The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) was founded on April 26, 1973, and is under the aegis of the Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Food Supply. Since our foundation, and with our partners from the National Agricultural Research System, we have taken on the challenge to develop a genuinely Brazilian model of tropical agriculture and livestock to overcome the barriers that limited the production of food, fiber, and fuel in our country.
The Centre was founded in 1958 as All-Union Foot-and-Mouth Disease Research Institute (AUFMDRI). Starting with the name a lot has changed since then: the number of research laboratories has increased, new research areas have been revealed, the epidemic situation is being monitored, further forecasts are made and disease outbreaks are eradicated.
The IZ belongs to the State Department of Agriculture and Food Supply (SAA) of the State of Sao Paulo and interacts through the São Paulo Agency of Agribusiness and Technology (APTA) through its various research institutes and centers in different regions of Sao Paulo State granting them respective demands. With a herd of about 4,000 animals IZ offers technology support in the areas of beef cattle and dairy cattle, swine and sheep industry. It promotes the development of science and technology to increase productivity and efficiency of these production chains and their derivatives.
Veterinary Faculty in Skopje is founded in academic year 1991/1992, as a department of Agriculture Faculty in Skopje, with Decision of Ministry for Education and Sport from 1.11.1991. According thi Decision, the Agriculture Faculty was compulsoryd to start with teaching on 6.11.1991 with study on first and second year, with students returned from the other veterinary faculties from the former Yugoslavia.
